Wade Haldane - Founder

Meet Wade, the heart and soul of Renovation Works and a true veteran of the Auckland building scene with over 33 years under his belt.

His passion for the craft extends beyond building homes; over his career, Wade has personally trained over 20 apprentices, and it speaks volumes that four of our five senior builders, along with both our project managers, learned their trade under his guidance. This loyalty reflects Wade’s natural ability to build strong, lasting relationships.

A key part of Wade’s role is maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers, sub-trades, and talented designers. This is key to providing a quality finish and timely delivery precisely when it matters most – during your build. You might even spot him on the golf course, further solidifying these valuable relationships!

A genuinely friendly guy and family man, Wade’s knack for connection extends beyond the industry – he’s still riding with mates he’s known for decades in their motorbike group.

When it comes to renovating homes and crafting unique features, there’s hardly a challenge Wade hasn’t seen or a solution he hasn’t mastered. Jeremy Haldane - Quantity Surveyor

Jeremy joined Renovation Works in 2018 and brings over seven years of experience pricing complex renovations and architecturally designed new homes.
His role is to ensure your project is accurately priced from the beginning, with no surprises later. Jeremy works with the Project Managers and takes the time to understand exactly what you want, so every allowance and material is included upfront. Having worked across a wide range of high-spec builds, he knows how to anticipate the details others might miss — especially when it comes to bespoke features or design changes.

Because Jeremy is part of our in-house team, he stays involved throughout the build. He’s available to explain any aspect of the budget and price any variations, giving you clear, timely information so you can make confident decisions as your project progresses.

Outside of work, Jeremy is a proud girl-dad which keeps him busy! Between play dates and swimming lessons, he manages to squeeze in off-road adventures in his purpose-built Hilux.

Jase Whitaker - Project Manager

Jason has been a key part of the Renovation Works crew for a fantastic 10 years – he even finished his building apprenticeship right here and loved it so much he stayed!

Jason is your go-to for keeping things humming on schedule and tackling any curveballs with a can-do attitude. His top tip for anyone diving into a reno or build? “Seriously, ask anything! Even if it feels like a silly question, it’s way better to get clarity.” What might seem simple to you could be tricky for the builders, and vice versa, so open communication is his mantra. What Jason values is the trust you put in him. He’s genuinely there to make your renovation journey smoother, even if he needs to ask some direct questions to keep things moving and deliver your home the way you want it.

Outside of work, Jason’s a passionate rock climber of 28 years – a sport that fuels his focus and brings that same determined spirit he has for making your project a success.

Craig Scott - Project Manager

Craig, another of our experienced Project Managers, officially qualified as a builder in August 2018 after a solid three and a half year apprenticeship right here at Renovation Works – learning the ropes directly from our founder, Wade.

Because of this solid foundation, Craig’s got a real handle on making sure everything we build is top-notch quality and keeping your project on schedule. When you start your renovation, Craig’s the steady hand that’ll guide you through. He’s been around the block enough to keep things running smoothly and is always happy to lend an ear and work through any questions – no sweat. And when the clock’s ticking or things get a little unexpected, Craig’s got a method of breaking it all down into smaller chunks, so you can see the clear path forward and keep things moving.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys the focus of a good game of golf, the rhythm of surfing, and the balance of family time – all activities that reflect his thoughtful and steady nature. With Craig managing your project, you can expect a calm, experienced hand guiding you through each stage, ensuring a well-crafted and carefully managed renovation.
