I remember upon my first consultation with Wade from Renovation Works, I immediately felt like I was in capable hands. With concerns that remedial work was imminently required, Wade and his team worked with me to come up with the plans. Excitement soon took over as design concepts came through.

This being my first big renovation, I wondered if I should play it safe. When the designs arrived, Wade showed me how much more the space was capable of. A full survey of the renovation site was undertaken to evaluate where consents were required due to code restrictions.

We worked with Wade’s kitchen specialist for the design and I was kept totally informed throughout the process. All my input was taken into consideration, until we had the final design. Before we commenced I was provided with a build schedule, detailed outline of the pricing and construction agreement.

I felt confident there was a clear and solid plan in place to begin the renovations.

The entire house was replumbed and rewired, to resolve its issues and bring my 1980’s house up to standard.

The Renovation Works builders on site were highly up-to-date on the current codes, explaining and educating me along the way, as well as discussing the implications of the finer finishing details I wanted. Wade project managed the construction, he coordinated the builders, plumbers, tilers, painters, plasterers, electricians and all the contractors needed to complete the project. He was available in a timely manner to address any concerns of mine or issues that arose. Furthermore, the team were highly professional, experienced, and respectful, adding to my sense of confidence and collaboration throughout the project.

There is still some final electrical wiring to be done and I need to select more lights for the rest of the house. However overall the renovation is exceptional and I am thrilled with the result. Renovation Works went the extra mile in terms of planning, which made this project run smoothly and on time. I felt I could always ask questions and seek guidance throughout. Above all, the communication between everyone involved was faultless, which I think was the key to the success of the project.

Firstly a bit of context.

Our building project started a year ago with Clearbuild. We had sourced pricing from four other builders and carefully checked each contract price to make sure we were comparing apples with apples. Wade’s pricing while not quite the cheapest was by far the most well thought out and put together estimate. He had cost centres clearly identified and was very up front about areas that were open to variance ( eg earthworks). This spoke volumes in terms of what we came to expect from Clearbuild and their open approach. While our situation is not a new build and we understand yours is, there is definitely a correlation between the two if you’re after a quality job.

The build was not without its challenges as you would expect in a hundred year old villa, but at all times Wade and his team were approachable and took a solutions focussed approach. The team we had assigned to our project were very easy to work with, did a quality job and were always available to answer any questions we had. They took pride in their work and showed huge determination when faced with a couple of obstacles that eventuated. The project manager and builder functioned effectively and efficiently in what was at time a difficult build. They worked in a supportive and collaborative way with us.

Wade in particular should be acknowledged for the active role he took in our project and the level of professionalism he showed throughout the build. He is an approachable person with good business sense and takes a proactive and positive approach to all he undertakes. He communicates freely, will always take your calls and responds to emails in a timely manner. His judgement is sound and he is able to make financial decisions that support the clients goals.

He was always on the lookout for better and more efficient ways to manage aspects of the build, knowing our budget was tight.

At a personal level he is a highly skilled practitioner who shows high levels of empathy when managing his staff. They respect his decisions and he shows strong leadership building capacity in his team.

As we are now approaching the final stages of this project we are looking to do it all over again. We will have no hesitation in engaging Clearbuild for the next one whether it be a rennovation or new build.

In summary, you’d be well placed to use Wade and his team if you want quality with professionalism and integrity.

I could not recommend Wade and his team highly enough. We had what turned out to be a really difficult job complicated by a poor design from an unrelated designer.

Throughout the project Wade and the team assisted us and helped us through a time when we could not even build due to the plans being wrong and resource consent issues that raised. Wade’s communication is excellent, and he is always looking for the most practical solution and tries to economise where he can without sacrificing quality.

His team’s workmanship was of a high standard. If we were to do another job Wade would be my first choice.
